SF recommendations for noobs in search of Co-Founders

Hey hey,

I'm thinking of coming to SF and potential co-founders and explore the option of moving there.

Would love for recommendations for:

* Places to visit * Meetups * Coffee shops * Hotels * Hackathons * Dating Apps

Thanks!

Don't.

You either meet your cofounder in college or you are better off alone.

Maybe if your startup is health/drug/music centered you could be lucky and meet him at the gym or at the club.

In any event Nature isn't stupid, the more you try and force it the worse the outcome is gonna be, this dude has to be your friend first and foremost, this requires at least 1-2 years of daily interaction and frequentation before you even introduce the idea of building a business together, and also he needs to have your same passion and not be in it for the money otherwise you'd be two surfers trying to paddle to catch up with a wave which is much faster than you.

Your best bet is to focus on the aforementioned sectors where you sweat/snort/dance together for 1-2 years on a regular basis and then build a business in such fields . The business doesn't have to necessarily be a startup, it can be a gym or a nightclub too and then if you still want to the startup can be the next iteration of that.

Finally do all the above away from SF, you'd be the new kid on the block nobody wants to talk to, and to add insult to injury you'd get stabbed as you walk through human feces and rivers of pee.
