When did you stop writing code?

Curious to know when people decided to stop writing code and move into other fields like engineering management, product, or something totally different.

I’ve been making the transition to management for the past year. I’ve been writing code professionally for 6.5 years. I really enjoy coding but I love helping others grow even more. I feel competent enough technically across the stack to be able to lead a team and also recognize when I’m not the smartest and to empower others to lead. I think that’s the bare minimum to become an engineering manager. I intend to get management positions that involve 20-40% coding time though so I can keep from getting rusty

You don't have to stop something to start something else.It is possible to do several things simultaneously.

Some things I've mingled over the years: Being a pilot, being a pharmacist, programming warehouse software, looking after a property-rental business.

Currently: doing the property-rental thing, writing software to aid in doing that, programming for pleasure.
