Inspired largely by another Amazon associates program site diskprices.com, even though it appears barebones, I spent a lot of time getting things right behind the scenes. I wanted it to feel like you, as a shopper, are getting great deals via some secret database created by an obsessed hacker.
Which, they kind of are.
... and people love it. Used gear is big in the outdoor community now -- both REI and Patagonia have increasingly important programs related to it.
Even my promotional efforts have been well received.. which, as I'm sure you guys know, is somewhat unusual. Maybe the highest compliment one can get as Dev. People were buying items off the site -- another strong signal of being on the right track.
I was surprised to see my site was blocked for content reasons: "My application was denied for non-specified reasons. Well... vague reasons: "Your website did not meet our content standards as the content on your site is insufficient. When reviewing a website we look for a beneficial reason as to why a customer would seek out your site. We want an associate site to be one that adds value to the customer by giving them insight on a subject or product they might not get easily. A website needs to show original content that exemplifies these components when we evaluate your application."
No shenanigans or link cloaking or anything like that. Everything else is 100% above board, etc...
What can I do? Is there anyone I can contact?
Any tips would be appreciated!
Schedule 2: "'Any dispute relating in any way to the Associates Program or this Agreement will be resolved by binding arbitration, rather than in court, except that either party may elect to proceed in small claims court if the claims qualify under applicable law.""
So you can take them to Arbitration; will cost roughly $2000.
