MFE programs syllabus (Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance)

As someone who has delved in this area as hobby, I will suggest don’t assume you will be able to do much on your own just because you are developer or know how to program. It is extremely expensive to do anything quant finance oriented (data, market access, etc are very expensive) and almost impossible without industry background, industry connections and wealthy connections that will back you. If you want to do this professionally, better route as a mature professional is to do MFE/MBA Finance unless you are at entry level with computational heavy degree and get hired as quant, analyst or in portfolio management.

Check your local library for DVD lecture series on the subject. Usually there are selections which can be ordered through your library book exchanges.

I find all sorts of interesting lecture series topics, some of which include finance.
