How to Raise Capital for a Bakery?
My dad has owned a bakery for 25+ years, and has decided to sell, and I am interested in trying to buy the land ($1.5m) and revamp it into a multi-concept bakery/cafe/bar/restaurant. I've spent years working in food, restaurant, operations, reading bread science and bread books, and am ready to make the leap. How do folks find funding for a bakery concept?
Solid advice from an investor: first, go work at a bakery and/or restaurant and learn the craft before trying to develop the project. You will learn the pitfalls and the value opportunities, you will save yourself from making bad decisions and investors will be much more interested in your project due to your credibility.
