ZFS users with SSDs, will you move to BCacheFS when it is merged?


BCacheFS has some of the same characteristics as ZFS such as copy on write and data integrity aspects as well. It's also, apparently, built with SSDs in mind.

I'm curious if ZFS homelabbers (and even production shops) running mostly SSDs (I'm on a U.2 P4600 6.4TB intel SSD) will move to it over ZFS even though at launch it might not have feature parity with ZFS.

Long term plan is yes. That's why I donated to BCacheFS on Patreon for a good while. I'll wait until it becomes closer to ZFS in terms of usability.

Nope. I'd rather have something with a proven track record hold my data.

Let someone else take the risks first.
