What does it mean that Stable Diffusion still has a Discord based UI?
Discord is one of the most imperialist platforms there is. That is, some people are gaga over it and can’t help but try to force everybody else into it. I’d say 90% of Discords don’t have enough activity that you can show up an expect to get good answers, on the other hand a really busy Discord (say reactiflux) is great.
My evil twin really likes Discords where he can “lean in” more than anyone else and basically take the forum over.
It's a barrier to entry. It stops everyone typing in prompts to some free online service which would suffer bandwidth / bottleneck issues if if there was too free access. But Discord is easy to setup, so it's a non-issue for me.
Seems to me Stable Diffusion has a giant opportunity which they are squandering by not giving it a user interface built to task.
Am I wrong?
