Preferred Tool for Gaming Analytics?

At my previous company we used DeltaDNA, but they were extremele expensive, their interface was slow and queries were hard to build.

If I would choose again now, I would just send basic stats/events to a self-hosted analytics platform, then I would have direct access to the database and use the vizualization tools of my choice.
