I'd love to hear from others if you have any examples of this, because with a good app it's just satisfying to use.
The most recent thread I could find on this for reference (2016): Ask HN: What are the most well-made iOS apps? https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12688975

As someone who travels every couple of months for work, this app has quickly jumped to the top of my list when I'm thinking of apps that solve a problem without compromise. Great UX, timely and truly helpful notification content, and a satisfying design that takes advantage of all the cool features iOS has to offer.

Google News has a good recommendation algorithm, but an uninspired design and very limited feature set. Apple News has a great design, but finding interesting content is a challenge even after months of trying to actively curate its algorithm. Artifact doesn't have the best recommendation engine, but it's pretty good and much more transparent/configurable than its competition, and its clever usage of GPT to dynamically combat clickbait headlines and summarize articles works surprisingly well.
