Non-invasive, GDPR compliant/pop-up free ads for a blog

If in the future (near or distant future, probably distant) my 2-cent thoughts at https://gigatexal.blog becomes a daily/weekly destination for some folks I think the traffic might be worth throwing a few tasteful ads on it to pay myself back for the time I put in.

So I got to thinking and after playing with the Google Ads preview of what ads would look like on my blog I went looking for alternatives. But navigating this space is difficult.

Does anyone have any companies/ideas/solutions that fits the title?

I would like an ad setup to be non-invasive, not make me require to have a GDPR popup so not be cookie based I guess, and not slow down my site too much.

I don't care about compensation rates. If Google pays 10 bucks (hypothetical) per 1k impressions and this goldilocks ads platform I am looking for is paying 2 per 1k I'd be fine with that.

You can tone down Google Ads quite a lot: turn off personalisation, turn off the most intrusive types of ads etc; I think that makes them GDPR compliant and thus I do not run GDPR pop-ups because I do nothing else on my sites to need them, though that may have to change.

And FWIW my current Google RPM is much less than your lower figure...
