What do you use to run background jobs?

Context: My workplace is outgrowing its original approach running background jobs, and I wanted to see what everyone else is doing.By background jobs I mean anything like ETLs, reprocessing raw incoming data, cleanup jobs, backups, etc.What tech/tools/frameworks do you use? Do you like it?

If you're on windows "Always Up" is pretty neat.
