Is the 15 inch MacBook Air good for iOS development?

And if so, with how much memory and how much storage?

Also, can you run a single-threaded non-graphical simulation on it for hours without significant slowdown due to throttling after a while?

I have the same question, but for Mac Mini M2 PRO (2023).

What is the lowest spec that will work iOS dev only, not as a primary machine. I guess 16GB will not work, so I listing the ones with 32GB only:

    Apple Mac Mini M2 PRO (2023) 10C CPU 16C GPU/32GB/512 SSD
    Apple Mac Mini M2 PRO (2023) 10C CPU 16C GPU/32GB/1TB SSD
    Apple Mac Mini M2 PRO (2023) 10C CPU 16C GPU/32GB/1TB SSD
    Apple Mac Mini M2 PRO (2023) 12C CPU 19C GPU/32GB/2TB SSD

If you have an Apple Store nearby, you can buy and try, they have a generous return period.

My M1 doesn't appear to ever throttle or even turn the fans on, but I've not been running simulations.

IMO, in 2023 M2 based macbooks are the obvious choice for IOS dev since you can basically test using very similar apple silicon on your macbook.
