Does Reddit pay Imgur for pummeling of its services/API?

Seriously, Reddit is like the cob in corn on the cob, the kernels are the subreddits, and their size determined by users, the connection to the cob are the mods.

Take away the mods and the kernels - and what use is the cob?

But here is the thing - is that Reddit's actions will hurt traffic to places like IMGUR for quite some time...

So by cutting off 3rd party access to Reddit API, they cull traffic reflected from reddit at pretty much every goddamn egress link from reddit's billion-user-base.

Reddit could just moderate things with paid employees like other sites. It might even be better for it.

Right now, it feels like they are taking advantage of unpaid labor and not really being good members of the community.
