Why does the web-interface of WhatsApp show my history when it starts?

When I open WhatsApp on my desktop browser, it shows the notifications in the left side-bar shuffling, as if it is replaying the history of my notifications.

Why is that?

PS: I use Firefox on Ubuntu.
