What is your “third place?”
Sociologists often speak of a “third place,” separate from home and the workplace, where people congregate, socialize, and relax in public. Frequent examples are community centers, bars, places of worship, and barber shops. What is yours?
Bars/restauraunts/cafes used to be very popular for me but things close much sooner now. There are some options but the ha bit has been hard to restart.
I do spend a good amount of time at some of the excellent local parks.
I'd dearly love one, but nothing appeals. Let's here some good ideas.
2, Toastmasters & Gym (YMCA) - both provide sustenance, learning and social.
Campus libraries (I’m not a student anymore so that’s indeed a third place)
I coach competitive youth sports. My teams are my second home.
The cafe at the local Barnes & Noble store.
