iCloud Documents sync delay doesn't inspire confidence


iCloud Drive has come a long way since the days of me.com ... but still, when I open my laptop after a day-long break and I see old files cluttering my yet-to-be-synced iCloud Desktop (remnants from temp files deposited and since deleted from my desktop computer) it doesn't inspire confidence.

Is it foolish for me to use iCloud Desktop to store personal documents? The only reason I do it is (a) to sync between desktop and laptop, (b) have access on iPad and iPhone, and (c) as a catastrophic-failsafe

Apple seems to be terrible at software, especially web software. Either that or they just care less about quality control than anyone else does. I've seen 500 errors with stack traces printed out on iCloud.com before.

I'd suggest using software from an actual software company that cares about the quality of the service. Sync.com, for example, does only one thing (not like Dropbox, which is rapidly adding features no one cares about), it's end-to-end encrypted, and it's based in Canada.
