Got any better ideas than interest rates for controlling inflation?

Tl;DR: I don't think anything can be done. Global population is increasing and all easy resources have been tapped already, the remaining resources are buried deep in the crust, under the sea and require expensive extraction. Unless we drastically change consumption (reduce transportation, do more digital stuff etc), inflation is going to rise.
