If a neighbor kicks down the door to your property what crime is it?

This morning I heard a big sound 7:30 AM along with someone’s yell. going to work later saw the door to the property had been broken. The police checked the street CCTV and saw a neighbor who had a history of harassing us for noise (that was actually made by yet another neighbor) exit to the street just after 730.

While nobody actually saw him kick The door in, This guy has a history of unstable behavior, and we’re concerned that he could escalate to further violence in future.

That kind of property damage would be a crime, right? some sort of a crime?

Anyone has any advice about what to do in these kind of situations where possibly it’s not conclusive enough yet to put a stop to the guy what’s the best strategy?

You don't say where you're living or if you rent vs own. All of that can make a difference on what you're allowed to do.

General advice:

Get a doorbell camera and/or a peephole camera. This way you can record who did it and have evidence to go to the police with.

If you really believe this could escalate to a violent physical confrontation, then prepare for that as well. Planning alternate escape paths, and deciding when escape is viable vs having to defend. Because cameras can capture what happened but they won't stop an unstable person.

Ah, felony (aggravated)vandalism if they didn't enter the doorway...

If they entered the doorway, breaking and entering...

You need to ask a lawyer, not an internet forum.

Threaten the noisy neighbor to stfu or you'll kick his door in. Try to get the crazy guy to help you.

In TX you can shoot them. If someone is kicking my door thought they are getting shot in every city in every nation.
