Why is tailscale featured on HN so regularly?
I see tailscale featured on HN on a weekly basis, sometimes a few times a week. Why?
Cause it is awesome. I have an intelligent assistant that runs in a web application on a ‘gaming PC’ at home that i access through my tablet. i take out a keyboard and a mouse and now I log in with remote desktop and i have a setup that is sleeker than your macbook and much more powerful. No fighting with legacy VPNs (like that AMI that should have cost $5 a month but really cost $300 because it went swap crazy) or NAT or DMZs or any of that.
I thought it was hype a while ago but I tried it and I am a believer.
I've organically heard lots of great things about Tailscale amongst my friends. I don't personally have a use for them, but they seem to be providing a solid service.
just like fly.io and supabase, good content.
