What do you think about adding Unix Command like feature to ChatGPT?

When using ChatGPT, I've frequently found myself hitting the "up arrow" key to retrieve my previous prompts, so I can modify them, like you would on a Unix command line.

As Sama visits this site, just thought I'd ask: Is this something that could be added?

Or are there shortcuts I just don't know about? I asked ChatGPT itself and it told me it was not possible.

What do HN'ers think?

I thought ChatGPT remembered the context of a session and could handle further queries like:

Change your code to use functions in place of repeated code.

Could be useful -- you could probably write a Chrome extension that would do this. Otherwise, I guess you could email OpenAI with a feature request?
