What email provider do you use for backup purposes?
Since free email providers have limited support options. I'm looking for a paid email hosted provider that I can use only to recover my main online accounts I dont mind paying 3-5 a month, but I need at least email support and reliability. Which non-free service do you use? Please note I am not looking to support the major players like google, Microsoft or yahoo as they go out of there way to create user-hostile environments.
My fallback is just Postfix running on some VM's DNS servers that writes all email sent to it into one text file. It acts as a tarpit for spammers that look for open relays. I also point MX for a handful of my domains to those VM's and I list secondary email canary addresses for those domains as a fallback. The VM's are spread across multiple VPS providers in the event that one of them has an outage.
