Can an AI headset prevent the mentally ill from being violent?


One could have a law that requires mentally ill people who are prone to violence to wear a brain augmentation AI headset to allow them to live in a way that does not threaten or harm others.

Such an AI could warn them whenever their behavior starts to become threatening to others and perhaps even contact the police automatically as a precaution.

Between this and your "law to make retirees talk to AI" post, I have to wonder; is this part of some forced-innovation challenge? You really shouldn't be pushing yourself (or society, for that matter) this far.
