I'm in the UK and a lot of the best services are US centric, i'd also like to be able to add in a few topics that I like, for example a sport that I follow.
GPT provides great summarises, so i suppose there will be a lot of tools doing this soon, i've not found anything I like yet.
Heck this would be a great service, where I could feed it even things like my youtube channels and it would summarise the new videos and link to them, news sources from practiular intrease sources and general news, perhaps even summarises of the latest hot posts on particuar subreddits to monitor trends.
Why do you ask? are you building a service?
Maybe it's ok for some kinds of news: say a sports section that gives you a few sentences about the daily games and player transactions. Or maybe it's ok for a science section, quick-hitting movie reviews, or just for getting a gist of random global news you don't know too much about and that don't impact you personally too much.
But there's no way I'd trust any summarized news about polarizing topics without extra detail.
