How is Ray Kurzweil doing?

I feel like he would have a lot to say about these past few weeks. Anyone know how he surfaces these days? I checked out his site, found an empty twitter profile, etc. Just curious what he'd say about all this - thought I suppose it's probably predictable because he's been saying the same things for a while and now they're here.

I guess I just wonder if he is feeling any vindication about the pace of progress in the face of so much naysaying over the decades.

Wikipedia suggests he was hired by Google in 2012 to work on NLP.[0]

I also found an interview with him and Lex Friedman, though it is from Sept 2022[1]

Ah, I found something, he spoke just a few days ago at #Abundance360, see for example (scroll a bit) https://twitter.com/search?q=ray%20Kurzweil

Not sure of the content yet, will have to look at it later. But happy he's around and talking about it all!

I read "The Age of the Spiritual Machines" and thought that he had a good points, and I liked the ideas he showed in the book. However, I thought that he was a bit optimistic about the timeline and capabilities of these "spiritual machines".

Now? I'm sure he was not wrong at all.

He published a book in Sep 2022. The interview with Fridman was also around that time. I doubt his views changed much since the publication of those two.

naysaying comes and goes, in waves. I'm sure that the past 3 months have been a great decade for him

That's an interesting question. I would have expected him to have something to say about all of this.
