I’ve invented a compelling standard playing card based inductive puzzle game. It is 1 player, but could be made two player in a “who solves it first” kind of way.
I wondered if anyone has experience in monetising this kind of thing? It could be a puzzle book with solutions in the back. It could be an app. It could be in the back of newspapers.
Any insight from those with experience would be appreciated.

All I know is that an app is the worst option. Self-publishing a puzzle book (perhaps marketing at people who want mentally stimulating games for children or the elderly) would probably be your best bet.

Check out games like Munchkin. I'm not sure how they are produced but maybe the people who make games would have some pointers.

i wonder if card games using the standard deck can even be copywritten? I could produce some kind of custom deck ... but then how long before people work out that they could just use a standard deck :)
