Is there any current “web of trust” social media?

I want something like reddit or twitter or HN, but only where I see content from people I've "trusted" and second and third degree etc trusted people from my direct trusts.

I don't really like reading reddit anymore because I'm not convinced a large majority of the content is genuine. Reading anything in the news or anything political or even product recommendations just seems overly astroturfed and not genuine.

Facebook isn't really an option because Facebook still puts crap in your feed that has corporate interests, and people don't really friend strangers.

Mastodon.

There is no "you might like this!" inserted into your feed. There are no ads. You get exactly what you subscribe to, and things that are "boosted" by the people you follow. It's starting to hit critical mass now with interesting things to read. Get involved.

The blogosphere is still a thing, and it's still great.

I use Feedly on desktop, and as a back-end sync service for the many phone and tablet apps that integrate with it.

You mean like Advogato some years back? It is gone now but it was interesting for a while. Spammers one day discovered that for some reason it had enormous search rank for its size. That helped kill it. The code is still around, I expect. Its trust system was clever.

SSB (Secure Scuttlebutt) is the only active one that comes to mind. The others mentioned in the comments doesn't have "web of trust" like SSB and are more just "alternative social media".
