Is there anyone working in ML who regrets getting a PhD?
Want to get a sense of how many such people are there and what people think about this question with the industry moving faster that academia with the emergence of Large Language models.
As someone who works in industry, I regret going to grad school at all. It didn't do anything at all to further my career. I know people with PhDs too and all it did was bump their initial salary by a few years worth of raises (but at the cost of spending even longer getting their PhD). Unless you're going into research, I would say just starting working as soon as possible.
I don't event get PhD or bellow)
