and a bunch of stuff related to Web Services.
Why? Hell if I know. I mean, there's no one, single, comprehensive answer to that. In each case there was just something I felt like needed to be on WP and it wasn't yet, so I started it. Note that in at least one case I was wrong and there was already a closely related page that I overlooked somehow and I wound up creating something that now really need to be merged with another page. But I have neither the free cycles nor the interest to do it myself right now. Here's hoping somebody else will take it up at some point.

I created it because I love futuristic movies.
It got taken down several times before I finally won my appeal to keep it up. One argument was that it wasn't worthy of being in Wikipedia, despite the fact that even back then there were countless other lists of films covering tiny niches.
There was also significant debate about whether the Star Wars films could be added, and ultimately the decision was made that they couldn't because they are set "A long time ago..."
But, it's been very fun watching it grow over the years.

This was immediately candidate for deletion. All other contributions on this field were deleted by persons, who know nothing about these issues.
My original "folding kayak" was also immediately deleted, and it was far more extensive than the current one. It contained story of successful raid by Finnish Kayak Army deep into Russia, but the creepy leftist pro-Russian mods did not like it.
