Which AI powered tools are you using daily?

There's a lot of hype. What things are people using and either paying for or would pay for?

I'm guessing some answers will be:

ChatGPT/ChatGPT Pro

Copilot/Codium

The GPT-3 api

Mem/Notion

Products that wouldn't exist at all without AI are more interesting, I think. Mem/Notion would exist without AI, whereas ChatGPT and the others on the the list above wouldn't.

I've been using the GPT-3 API in various ways; I occasionally use it through my emacs config as a sort of natural-language abstraction for keyboard macros [0].

I've also been developing a GPT-3 based clinical reference tool [1] -- currently it serves as an exploratory vehicle to see how this technology can be applied reliably to the clinical domain, but as I've started to gain an intuition of the sorts of things it is useful (and accurate) for, I've been using it fairly regularly for quick lookups about particular clinical topics!

I use DeepL translator daily, as it provides near-human level quality in translations of text in some very difficult languages, as long as you take care to write the original text in a clear way. DeepL has already saved my business, couldn't be without it.

GitHub Copilot for coding, and ChatGPT for sundry tasks, mostly summarizing and explaining written text. I pay for both of these tools now. ChatGPT seems great in particular for summarizing YouTube videos (I copy and paste a YouTube video transcript) and email newsletters. I also use it alongside reading longform articles to expand on or clarify parts of the article I don't fully understand or want to know more about. You can also ask it follow up questions when using it in this way (e.g. for examples of the concept or thing you don't understand).

Why should I use AI powered tools daily?

No, really. It's a genuine question. I don't use any of them, I used ChatGPT maybe twice, just to play with it. Are people using it daily for 'normal' questions really out there? I mean, is it a new wikipedia or something?

Hypothetically this will be the area that differentiates ai from crypto.

With crypto, the things people were/are paying for actively seem to have remained limited to a few categories:

* Trading/speculation

* Store of value

* Sending value

* Infrastructure to run crypto apps

* Google search

* My xfinity remote control when I tell it to "open netflix"

* Similar when I use Google Voice assistant

* Digital Ads which are shown to me when on my phone or browser

* Google lens to identify birds and plants

Copilot every single day. It's part of my work flow now, to the point where I feel uncomfortable working without wifi.

For school work, I use https://delilah.ai - shameful plug, I'm building it.
