How to identify current market opportunities?

It's not only about what opportunities exist. There are always opportunities. It's also about what skills, positioning, and resources (human, financial, time) you have. When you find the intersection between an opportunity and those three things, then you have a chance. For the record I haven't yet found an opportunity that I could exploit beyond quite mild successes, but I've tried and always lacked one of the above.
