What’s stopping bunny population growth?

Rabbits and bunnies have a gestation cycle of 31 days and give birth to 1-12 children. Why aren’t they everywhere? They have no predators in the wild so why isn’t their population exploding?

If a geographic region was devoid of predators but not bunnies, you would see bunnies everywhere. As you state they have a short gestation period. People that raise rabbits have to keep the males and females separated until it is time to breed them.

Cities and suburban areas have stray cats and dogs as predators. Rural areas have a wide assortment of predators depending on geographic region.
