At first glance, it's impressive but then you look behind the works and you find a machine that is very good at manipulating, imitating and processing text. It seems smart but it's like a very smart parrot. It blabs very well. There's no way LLMs are going to get us to AGI any time soon. It will change society but there's 0% danger of it taking over. It's a very good tool. And, we have to keep in mind that it's a tool and not a smart machine. The real danger is that people will start using it against each other. Unfortunate, but we see it with new tech every time.
