Why are Raspberries Pi products sold out everywhere?

The ones sold on Amazon are ridiculously expensive, and the Raspberry Pi website doesn't sell them directly either. The only options are the approved sellers on their website, but all of them are out of stock.

Is it because of the global chip shortage?

I would guess it's a combination of component shortage (everything from DRAMs to resistors and capacitors), scalpers, pent-up demand for the systems and greedy resellers... according to Eben Upton, also a very strong demand from industrial customers:

Most other ARM SBCs are much easier to obtain, so it seems that the component shortage is at least not hitting RPi's competition as badly. However, their production runs are probably much smaller, so they may have an easier time obtaining the parts they need.

The 400 model is in stock in some places. It's built into the keyboard and does everything a Pi should do, and you don't have to buy enclosures or separate keyboard.
