What is a good reason to join Google?
I am debating whether to appear as a worthy candidate to them. I remember the allure a job with them used to be but is it still that happy place for developers?
This reminds me of Seinfeld's observation about people who "think they
want to go into acting." The statistics are so skewed against success
that any wishy-washiness guarantees failure.
Compensation is good, the brand has cachet socially and it’s good on a resume (an endorsement to future employers that you are at least smart enough to grind leetcode)
