Trustworthy office suite that works

I use MS office and just noticed that they turned "connected experiences" i.e. spying on my work data back on without my permission. Since they evidently cannot be trusted, I want to stop using them. I've been trying open office and it's useless. Is there a mature office Suite anywhere not run by people hell bent on spying on my private data. I am responsible to my customers and I can't have MS randomly stealing information out of the work I do for them
