I made a free web app that cuts out the life story from recipe websites. People complain about crappy recipe websites all the time…but when I tell them about my site, I am getting a lot of confused looks.
So…what about this is confusing or how can I make the app better? HN always delivers on critical feedback. Do your worst! :)

A niche might be:
- Advanced-amateur cooks that like to follow recipes to present food like in a Michelin Star restaurant.
- A certain dietary restriction, like recipes following religious fasting calendars.
>cuts out the life story from recipe websites
The problem with aiming too wide here is that most people who just want to get to a recipe without the life story are indeed just home cooks trying to save time, but "cutting the life story" and getting to the point, is currently served by their casual tiktok browsing with no-nonsense short videos getting straight to the point in video form. You'll have a tough time winning that audience back from short video format, so you're better to try a niche.
But I’ve got to admit, that I fail to understand the purpose of your website aswell. I’ve clicked through some examples and compared it to the source material. So far, the only thing that was scrapped on your site have been the notes or helpful texts.
Maybe you could create an about page or show the user what content was scrapped (doesn’t have to be a wordcount. Can be something like: 5min readtime vs 1min readtime)
Show the user, why they should use your site instead of the original.
