How do manage your projects

I'm asking about non-work or business projects like, reorganise garage, setup home server, learn meditation, etc.

Not necessarily breaking them down and actioning them. But how many at a time do you work on? How do you prioritise them? Do you use software?

I prefer taking 10-15 mins in the morning to plan my day. This includes both work and non-work activities. I believe that if this micro-practice of reflecting on tasks, priorities etc. becomes a habit, then for me the at the macro level things begin to fall into place automatically.

Also I prefer good old pen/pencil and a notepad over any software but you could do this any way you like. I always have a pen and notepad lying on my desk. I write lots of different things down like due dates for bills, upcoming birthdays, even ideas or tasks that I do not want to forget. For ideas, tasks etc., you can at a later point rewrite from your notepad to obsidian, trello (or your software of choice).

For me a breakthrough was realizing that I don’t have time to do everything I might like to do. So I have to let go of some things. I’m not one to naturally let go, so this was a hard shift.

It has also helped me to write down my project ideas or goals on 3x5 cards and save them. That gets them off my mind while saving the idea or any key details for (potentially) later.
