What do you wish was better in designer-developer interactions?

I'm studying how developers and designers can work together. I am curious about what sources of friction developers see with the other side (and vice versa).

One problem I am seeing is the developer handoff. Often designers give developers a Figma file, which is constantly changing, so developers are not sure when a design is finalized.

What other issues do you face in your team?

I don't do much corporate work in a corporate environment so my thoughts might not be high value but...

1) designs that tend to be desktop first (and opposed to mobile first). Lots of images, extra long scrolling on mobile, etc. Basically an experience that doesn't impress on mobile.

2) designers that write cheques that developers have to cash. Mind you, it's good to be pushed outside your dev comfort zone, but there are limits (especially when there are time / budget limits).

3) designs where the UX wasn't thought through, or simply isn't user friendly, and even after pointing out the (obvious) flaws there's no revisions.
