Any reason to suspect that "make climbing K2 safer" could be in the (say) top 10,000 national priorities for China or Pakistan?Is there some broad public consensus that doing that would "fix the problem", for politicians to enjoy the resulting limelight? Vs. being dangerous, expensive, and stirring up far more controversy than the current status quo?

Why not just rename [Haystack Mountain](https://usabynumbers.com/mountains-in-connecticut/) in Connecticut (USA) to K2?That way climbing K2 will be as easy as a car ride!
