Why don't robot vacuum cleaners move objects to vacuum underneath them?

Maybe they could push objects around without needing to lift them.

Of course, there's a chance this could ruin the carpet/floor.

Maybe a robot vacuum with arms that can lift objects to move them?

Because they're more likely to knock things over than just move them.

Maybe because a Roomba weighs ~9 lbs but a sofa or table weighs 2x to 10x more.

I can answer your actual question by pointing out robot vacuums lack arms or any feature capable of lifting anything. That’s “why” they don’t lift things.
