Which are your favorite conspiracies?

Hey y’all and happy new year!

I’m really curious to know, what are your most or least favorite conspiracy theorists and conspiracy theories?

Which do you enjoy in their construction, or logical twists, or simply otherworldliness, or which do you find the most disturbing, either due to their insinuations or their irrationality?

Further, to which would you lend the most or least credence?

It’s perfectly ok if you enjoy flat earthers, Montauk, Alex “they’re making the frigging frogs gay” Jones, or Graham Hancock’s early “inspirations”, I won’t judge :)

I personally enjoy James Corbett’s mostly middle era stuff, particularly his take on Carol Quigley’s books and the two Big Oil documentaries (but not so much the 9/11 stuff).

I always enjoyed the X-Files-style alien conspiracies. Abductions, Roswell, the Men in Black, crop circles, Area 51, that sort of stuff. Unfortunately, those seem to have fallen out of favour in recent years.

To this day, one of my favourite things to do for relaxation is playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 while listening to old Coast to Coast AM shows from the 1990s about aliens, or demonic possessions, the Georgia Guidestones, or doomsday prophecies about some catastrophic, civilisation-ending event happening at the turn of the millennium. It's better than watching a movie or a TV show for me.

Maybe it's because I don't keep up with this stuff anymore, but it feels like modern conspiracies have a very heavy political (and partisan) component, and that sort of thing just repels me. Used to be that governments, no matter their political leanings, were part of the cover-up and not to be trusted. Now it seems like half of the conspiracies are political ads for one side or the other.

Walking Boss Godfrey (born Gottfried Mustermann) from Cool Hand Luke doesn't speak much because he's former SS (served under Obergruppenführer Karl Wolff) and hesitates to give either his accent or his non-native grammar away. Some of his more capable colleagues ended up being used as NOCs by CIA, but he's just a good ol' boy who's happy to have been relocated post-Italy to someplace (Florida) where his skin colour covers up for his lack of documented history. The "official" word in the files is that someone in the Vatican helped send him down an OdeSSA ratline to Argentina, which ought to keep anyone looking for him busy on the wrong continent entirely...

Not my favorite but one I wished went away but never will. The idea that the government is hiding information about aliens. Even the fact that people think that they exist irks me. There has been zero evidence but as soon as people find a situation they can't quickly explain it becomes a case where it must have been created by extraterrestrials. What's truly frustrating is that even some of the most learned scientist have fallen in to this trap.
