How are you celebrating New Year’s Eve?

In Finland, NYE the single evening of the year on which launching personal fireworks is allowed. I'll probably go out for a walk and try to take some pictures of people doing questionable things. The city is also putting on a concert and fireworks show I plan to watch.

However, the weather today has been November-levels of disappointment inducing and the nice snow from early December is melted. :<

I love the tradition of fireworks on New Years, as long as people are sensible about it. I don't appreciate them going off right off my balcony.

I'd love to spend another New Years in Reykjavik someday. I don't think I've ever seen fireworks like that anywhere else.

I'm alone this year, so I'm going to wander around the city in the evening looking for something interesting, maybe sit in a bar for the ball drop. Let me know if you have any tips for finding stuff.

I'll study differential equations. I have an exam on 4th of Jan

Country home in the mountains with my family, father, nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers, brothers and sisters in law and the presence of my beloved mother. We spend more than New Year's eve here.

I know I have my best sleep here. It is incredible, just incredible sleep. I love it because I write code, read, and enjoy the greenery and the sun all while surrounded by my family.

Dinner with a friend a couple of miles away, home probably about 10:30. We will not stay up until midnight.

Tomorrow we will have friends over to dinner, and serve a Pennsylvania Dutch New Year's meal of pork and sauerkraut. (My wife is a native of York County, Pennsylvania.)

I will hang out with my best friend and play poker together. I would like to be with my wife, but she is a bartender and of course she must work tonight; it's the busiest night of the year for bartenders.

I've picked up some Winter Virus so I won't be doing much. This might be the first year I haven't stayed up til midnight on NYE in my life
