Are you using ChatGPT for your daily coding?

Hello folks,

Since the last week I've been using ChatGPT for writing some of the code at my startup and I found it great!

I'm preparing an article about how my experience as a programmer and technical founder is changing thanks to these kinds of tools (ie: ChatGPT, Github Copilot, IntelliJ Machine Learning code completion)

I'm still pretty new to this world of AI-enhanced coding experiences so it would be great if you can share your experiences with me and I'll try my best to include them in my article matching them with my own experience.

So how as been your experience of far?

Yes, many methods that I used a few years ago and haven't practiced for a while. I use the "Find the errors" function to better understand my code and find some potential bugs. More a knowledge base than a real development tool.

Enhanced the ability to envision new methods for your convenience.

Love it or hate it this is here to stay and boost the cognitive capabilities.

Nah, I tried it, and it failed to generate usable code. The level of sophistication and understanding is an inch deep. It will need serious retraining in specialist subjects to be usable. Once that happens, it may indeed replace humans. But until then, most competent humans are safe in their coding jobs.
