Is there a way to browse the net in reader-mode only?

I get that lynx is the way, but this is for someone who wouldn't understand the terminal. Looking for an extension or browser that defaults to reader mode

I imagine a future (probably soon) were the standard web browser will present all internet content in pre-defined reader modes for articles, message boards and online shopping, where the browser manufacturer already has a standard design ready for the user and at most the logo and a header image changes. Modern web design has become so user hostile, that it's only a question of time before browser makers will start taking away the right from the web sites to dictate what to show and how to show it. Reader mode was the start.

I use reader mode quite a lot, but often a site won't post a reader mode version, or in reader mode it's an incomplete page.

Then I resort to an firefox addon, textise it, which tries it's best to pull text out. I used to be happy enough to just drop into page source but text is often so broken in the page source when it's trying too hard to be pretty.

iOS Safari can even do this.
