Not an investor, but the question itself is already pretty interesting.

I believe that no VC that you want to get funding from makes God a part of their decision process. Money is their religion ;)

However, God or more specifically religion certainly plays a more subtle role, which is also true if you are atheist. Most of our societies have been heavily influenced by religions in the last centuries. It has shaped our views of ethics and morality and this certainly has influence on the gut feeling when investing.

I am pretty sure that almost all biotech companies have heard the phrase "You cannot play God hear" or something alike. This is pretty much an objection based on religion/God. There is not "natural" reason to not do something besides a common thought framework in a society.
