Good options for rural mobile internet

For what I can only describe as 'old man reasons' my dad will no longer accept being a customer of the broadband internet provider in his rural area. I am trying to find a suitable alternative for him such as a 4g hotspot device, preferably that can run on the AT&T network. Does anyone have any good experience with any particular devices?

Mofi seemed to be good the last time I looked into this (https://mofinetwork.com/)

Have a look at Reddit too (https://www.reddit.com/r/Rural_Internet/) also this site: https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/

Not rural, by I had a Verizon Home LTE device (4G) for a while and it worked surprisingly well (except when the microwave was running). I got it directly through Verizon.
