Bookmarks for Hacker News?

I constantly find myself wishing there was a way to "save" or "star" posts on this website. Favorites and bookmarks are good and all, but it's just not the same, especially when you remember seeing something on HN, but don't remember the site name or exact title to find it easily.

The same thing happens to me and IMO almost always these are enough:

- HN Search website [0] (with the use of search operators), almost always I remember a keyword from the title and restrict the search between dates (or sort by date if is something recent).

- History Trends Unlimited chrome extension [1], in case I remember the domain.

- A local "personal knowledge base" / "digital garden" / "second brain" [2], in case I want to remember, review, and/or update my notes. "Local" to speed up search (with `ripgrep`[3])

I don't get it. you mean you want to be able to search into your HN favorites list [0] ? would that solve the problem ?

This seems a solved problem: Make an Ask HN asking if anyone here can give the link to the story you vaguely remember. I've seen it work several times, usually very quickly. Side-benefit: You might find related stories, or help other people discover the story for the first time.

If you're on Mac, DevonThink is one alternative. I went into detail on this thread about my own workflow:

If you're on another OS or you think DevonThink is overkill you might also want to have a look at Raindrop:

At least on Firefox you can assign tags to bookmarks and search based on those, the title, and the url. Bookmark search is as available as going to the address bar, typing "* ", then your search keywords.

instapaper - already has integration within the site (may need to tie the 2 accounts together, dont remember back when i set it up)
