Does “leading” software mean anything?
When a company advertises their product or platform as "leading" in some space, does it actually mean anything? Do they have statistics to back it up?
It means they have significant market share in the relevant sector they're operating in. For example, it would be fair to say that Tableau is a leader in enterprise analytics and data management.
In some enterprise spaces it might be backed up with the product being a leader in a Gartner quadrant or similar industry benchmark. It's completely meaningless but it makes the C-suite feel like they see keeping score.
It usually means nothing. That line as well as "We offer a competitive salary" are classic ones.
Is it just me or am I the only one who first thought of "Leading Edge" computers?
