What's possible to make cables durable on ends where the connector is?
At least in theory, maybe something our machines can not produce.
If the cable was a uniform material of something like loop woven kevlar and molded into a refractory composite of carbon, it should be tough enough.
Make the cable gradually less flexible as they get to the connector.
