Did your company provide the computer you work on?

All of them. It’s very common in IT companies to provide the equipment. However, some companies are great in many ways but provide shitty computers. Then you may want to use your own equipment but you shouldn’t because it’s not going to be fixed or replaced when it fails.

If you want me to provide my own hardware, I'm a contractor and will not lock in to an exclusive relationship with your company and charge a significant premium.

I’ve always been assigned a laptop. Sometimes a company will allow me to use a personal laptop, such as when I want to use Linux and they don’t support that.
